it was easy to figure people out.
as long as you got out in service and put money in the money box people will pretend to be your "friend".. but let's be honest is most of business associates.
they are your friends as long as you are active doing the watchtower bidding.. and then let's talk about the lack of hot women.
I've experienced two things;
1) you really have to be in the "in" crowd whether in the BORG or just in society in general to get a wife/gf, or just popular
2) secondly, inspite of the more sisters/girls in the BORG over the young men, it was pointed out to me many, many years ago that the sisters/girls actually do the choosing to create the opportunity for the brother/man to ask for relationship or marriage.
so its now all clear!.

someone mentioned on here earlier about the CO presenting a hypothetical situation about everyone being sent to the kingdom hall for days or weeks on end....and to drop everything and not to worry about our material things. The problem with that is.....if everyone went to the KH for days, weeks on end coutless people would lose jobs/houses as a result. Then after nothing happens after days/weeks/months people will leave the KH and there would be an enormous/massive exodus.
in the last couple of years the org has gone money crazy, selling off over a billion dollars worth of property and now a new tithing program.
just wonder what every one thinks is the reason for all this now?.
I don't know, but now more than ever I have a really uneasy feeling about things. The fact that they have to destroy previous letters from the sociey, now a new tithing arrangment, liquidating assets and selling off properties, I mean what aren't they telling us. We're talking about dollar amounts which the average person can't begin to fathom, what are they hiding? Did they lose some heavy lawsuit or something, or other lawsuits?

yeah, there must be a biggie coming up with new light, they are planning something, I just know it. The fact they had that Watchtower a few months back about 'doing things that wouldn't make sense from a human viepoint' or something like that, something that will send shockwaves through the community is coming down the pipe.

I agree that the new NWT has a more ominous, sinister plan in the making. I firmly believe that Tithing is on the radar, possibly also an earthshaking doctrinal change. The new NWT is just a smoke screen to make the change(s) less poignant and easy to sell the new doctrines

There is no possible way the Society will make the 144,000 doctrine symbolic. That would sent shock waves throughout the JW world through every nook and cranny. That would make the average JW wonder what else they got wrong, possibly resulting in a mass exodus, revealing the 144,000 is symbolic would have catastrophic effects I think.
so i'm young enough to not remember having hot prepared meals at assemblies, but heard all about it from my parents and the like.
but what i do remember were all of the cold sandwiches and institutional snacks and soda.
remember the food tickets we started to use?
Yeah, I remember before the mid 90's rolled around, for I think about 3 or 4 years you never had to pay for the food, it was on contribution basis, before they scrapped food around '95 or something like that. Anyway, I remember the mornings, especially around 11 or so, I could hardly wait for one of those subs with the Italian dressing, one of those partially frozen puddings, a danish & pop.
I remember at a few circuit assemblies, a few sisters brought some of the most awesome apple, cherrie and lemon pies. I get really sad thinking back to those days for some reason.
